Episode 30 --- Dorks In a Box - Part A


Back for yet another round of geek-madness, the PodCulture crew catches up after the holidays and is joined in the studio by Ryan.

Brad rants about crappy service at Tumbleweed. Christina gives Brad a late Christmas present, a very cool Torchwood t-shirt!

TV, DVD and Movie chatter includes Time Tunnel, Red Dwarf, The Simpsons, Stargate Atlantis, (For those interested in the newest episodes aired in Canada, unaired as yet in the US, here's a great link. WARNING-MASSIVE SPOILERS.) Zapped, How I Met Your Mother, Cyborg 2, Superman Returns, Cars, Quest for the Mighty Sword, Doctor Who, Bones, The Muppet Show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Torchwood, Star Trek Voyager and Doctor Who Confidential.

The guys also debate HDTV and HDDVD vs Blu-Ray and mention a few good Doctor Who related podcasts such as the DWO Whocast and Podshock.

Episode 29 --- The Birthday Bash - Part B

The second half of the new weekly version of PodCulture kicks off!

Toy Talk finds Glenn chatting about his new Xbox 360, and a whole slew of games like Need for Speed Most Wanted, Gears of War, Perfect Dark Zero, Dead or Alive 4, Dead Rising, Superman Returns, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Sneak King, Big Bumpin, Pocket Bike Racer. Brad continues the toy discussion with his DC Direct Green Lantern action figures. Glenn also chats about Burning Crusade.

The guys also mark the passing of original Green Lantern creator Martin Nodell.

Glenn's Guilty Pleasures this time around is the often talked about Robo Vampire! and as a special bonus the gang chats about a Christmas themed Guilty Pleasure, A Christmas Story.

Christina, Glenn and Brad start winding up the show with a whole slew of thank yous. Including The Bluegrass Browncoats website, webmistress Anya Balazs, the awsome artist Stuart Duncan, Jill Arroway and the rest of the crew from The Signal podcast, and bumper vocal artist Dani in NC.

The crew closes out by reflecting on some favorite memories, things and events from 2006. Such as Doctor Who, Torchwood, Smallville, How I Met Your Mother, Justice League Unlimited, Green Lantern, the Image comic book Invincible, the dvds Slither and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, The Shadow, and Batman Begins.

Episode 28 --- The Birthday Bash - Part A



PodCulture goes weekly and heads into year two with Part A of The Birthday Bash and kicks off with an intro from Dawn and Drew from The Dawn and Drew Show podcast.

TV and DVD talk includes Stargate Atlantis, Babylon 5, How I Met Your Mother, The Class, Heroes, Smallville, Torchwood, Fraggle Rock, Doctor Who, and Superman.

The crew chats about what has gone on in the past year of the show; the feedback, fun at Dragon*Con 2006, meeting other podcasters, gifts in the PO Box, international listeners, PodCulture's new weekly format and the gang's request for more feedback are just a few of the many things discussed.

Thanks to the fine folks at The Signal podcast there is a great review of the TV show Farscape.

Geek Cuisine is a mixed bag of tricks this time with Cadbury chocolate balls, Red Bull, and White Chocolate Twix.

Scott and Ben from the True Believers podcast send in a great comic review of Conner Hawk: Dragon's Blood by Chuck Dixon.
